I been back for five days now..  and my weight is back to 120lb.. I guess I never lose 5lb or american food are just super fat.. lol.. I am not missing my studying time in London.. but am missing all the travelling and going out nights.. So a little update on what happend.

 

Finished all my exam.. as mentioned before the exam atmosphere is very serious (pic will be uploaded later... )... I don't think I did great.. hopefully I passed..

 

A few of my friends and I had a farewell night out.. It was quite fun.. I am so touched that they all came out for me.. xxxxxx... I actually looked pretty good that night.. haha (a bit of my self conceitness came out)..

 

 

The last couple days in London was quite boring other than visiting Natural History Museum (really sweet) and Science Museum (quite disappointing)...and i realized that I didn't visit many places in London itself.. and I didn't get any souvenirs from London either.... sad.. I guess it is true that tourists have visited more landmarks in a city than the actual residents.. lol..

 

Took Virgin Airline back to Newark Airport... I got to the airport 5 minutes just before the check in closes (ooo.. lucky).. Before that.. QMUL was holding a fundraising event for the SiChuan Earthquake victims.. I stayed there till 12:30 or so and my flight was at 4pm.. (it takes about 1.30 to go to the airport).. It was worth it thou..

 

On a side note.. I don't know if other ppl actually have this fantasy of sitting next to a real hot opposite sex on the plane.. and start one of those crazy love on the plane thing... but I do.. however.. the seat next to me is empty (at least i got leg rooms)... anyway.. i did see a real cute guy on the plane.. and was looking at him the whole ride.. haha.. (in chinese.. that action would be consider "hua chi).... I think he was looking back at me too.. (Note: "I think")... haha..

 

Am back in the US now.. miss my parents.. but now I am back.. My mom is my typical mom again.. "ling, its time to eat. drink some orange juice. eat eat.. ".. ughh.. i do miss London .. lol..

 

Oh.. I also found out that my mom got really sick when i was away.. but she never told me cuz she didn't want me to be worry.. she's ok now.. but still.. while i was travelling and enjoy my life.. my mom is in pain and still worry about me... all I could say is that "Mom are the best in the world.. and I love my mom"...  xxxxxxxx

 

I got my drug test done for the internship on the last possible day.. met my best friends.. (one of which graduated.. and i went to her graduation party yesterday)... it felt like I was never away.. we are still "tight".. lol.. love them too... these are friendship for life.. and ye.. we are each others' kids god mothers.. hehe..

 

There are a lot of things that happened in China this year.. its quite devastating.. but the good thing that came out of it is that we are strong adn we are united... Best wishes to all the victims of Si Chuan Earthquake.. lastly.. for those of you who were looking down at us.. we have proven u wrong.. We, Chinese are strong.. We are proud to be Chinese... and We will put together the best Olympic to date....

我想我因该是属于所谓的大宅女吧

今天早上我终于体会到伦敦大学的期末考试啥样的。。

 

今天考的是国际商业， 10点到12点。 地点是Statford Townhall。 本来还感到纳闷。。 因为怎么考试会去townhall里考。 而且还里我们学校15 分钟的路程。 。（noted： stratford 是伦敦2008奥运会主办的地点）。。。 昨天晚上生平第一次去图书馆复习考试。。 丷哈而且还是第一次开始复习这个科目。 悲哀啊。。。 如果当掉也是我自己的错。。 今天早上本来打算7点半起来复习的。 可是赖。。 一直按上snooze按到9。06分。。 所以只够时间翻一下笔记本接着坐了地铁去考试地点。。

 

到的时候还剩5分钟到10点。。 门外已经站满人。 估计都是考我这科的。。 有点眼熟的屈指可数 （因为没经常去上课）。。入们之后发现要找最为。。 是按学生证上的考试号码编号的。。 我的是140好。。 column 4 row 3 。。。 感觉还挺formal的。。 跟美国的差的好多。。 接着上楼去入座。。 到考试间之前有个小厅， 所有学生必须把包包放下。。 手机关掉。。 只能带笔。。 够严肃的。。 考试间超大。。 监考有5，6 个。。 有的站在台上（考试间是表演厅的构造。。 有台。。 还有个大大的场地。。 大概篮球court那么大。。放了 超过200张座位） 。。 台上还有个大大的钟。。。 等大家都坐好了。。 考官做了些说明。。 然后就开始了。。 总共是10提选3体 作文式的。。 2个小时。。 而我也替却发了快2 个小时。。 手都快写断掉了。。 10也之多丫 。。 不知道考的怎么样。。 因该能及格吧。。 （祈祷中）。。

 

还有两个exam。。 5月12 一个5月19一个。。 然后5月20 就回美国了。。 丷哈。。 挺想家的 。。。

 

哦。。 关于我的travel日记。。 我看要慢慢熬了。。。 一， 博客有照片限制。。 不能弄太多上去。。 而我大概有1300张。。 所以我看要到8月9月才可以全都弄上去。。 2. 我的记忆卡当即。。 要修理之后才可以。。 希望照片没丢。。 不然欲哭无泪啊。。 （在祈祷）。。

 

 

First of all, because a big chunk of my Eurotrip pictures are stuck on my WD Passport hardrive and highly possible to be lost.. I would have to go backward in my travel journal.. so.. the latest - Egypt..

 

Its an early start for me, took Bus 205 around 4:45 to International Student House, where I will be meeting with the rest of group.  There were 16 of us (me, alexis, john, daniel, marco, maja, seena, katarzyna, eiko, leticia, elizabeth, Egnor (dont know how to spell her name.. she was a bit diva), nicole, ha, how, and T) with two trip leaders: Peter and Ellenor (they are couples.. really cute and nice..)..

 

 

We head to the airport and caught the plane around 9:15 ... i slept through the 4.5 hour trip cuz I did not sleep the night before.... Once we got off the plane, we took those little transport buses to the main building.. me and a few of other Americans did not have get our visa so we got it there for $15 dollar which is cheaper than the 12 pound others paid in London.. hehe.. but its really a cheesy version of the visa.. Oh.. and one thing for sure.. Cairo is definitely hot..

 

The owner from the hostel picked us up.. the ride to the King Tut Hostel took about 20 minutes.. and ye.. for those who are wondering.. the traffic is insane.. horns every second...i would definitely die if I drive in that kind of regulation.. our driver was quite impressive... My first impression of Egypt is very dusty.. although the building is quite different.. i found some similarity between it and Fu Zhou.. but definitly completely different from NY, NJ, London, and all the places I have been..

 

 

We checked in to the hostel (located in the center of Cairo.. across from McDonalds. on the 8th floor.. the elevator is seriously one of the most scary one I have been on).. i was in a three share room with Nicole and Leticia.. the room is quite nice.. frigerator.. tv.. more like a motel than a hostel.. and the staff were all very nice..

 

We met at night to go to our planne Nile River Cruise.. we waited for quite a well becaue we missed the previous for about 15-30 minutes.. and this is when i first realized Egyptians are very laid back with their time.. Egyptian Time certainly does not equal NY Time or London Time..

 

The dinner was chaotic.. everyone rushed to the buffet style food table in a unorganized fashion.. you can't even move at all... The food is not the best.. not really Authentic either.. I was most impressed with the performance at night..

 

The early performance was song singers singing.. which I am quite sure they are just moving their lips and playing backdrops.. even the pianist was faking it because there were music even when his hand wasn't moving on the keyboard.. anyway.. i guess they get pay for moving their hips left and right..

 

The second performance with the Belly Dancer and the traditional drummer band is really impressive.. i finally could say that I got to see real belly dancing.. The third peformance was of the traditiona Sofi Dance... my favorite part of the night.. the main performer was extremely entertaining.. he was able to spinning around for 5 minutes while wearing the heavy traditional skirt.. then he spinning it on his index finger along around the room.. very enjoyable..
